I recently found an article about the failure of a Chinese American company. Home Depot is a house filled with DIY enthusiasts and it is a household goods retail store that meets real needs. Due to similar socio-economic and cultural climate, Fortune 500 companies decided to enter China in 2006. China has "a growing middle class, millions of new homeowners, and a culture of daily creation and sparing". The problem is that they do not truly understand the background and its impact. The idea of DIY is deeply rooted in the United States and comes from the central ideal of the American dream (such as independence). This does not exist in Chinese dreams, China's dreams pay more attention to collective states than individuals.

China is the world's largest energy consuming country, the largest coal producing country and consuming country, and it is the largest carbon dioxide emitting country. In recent years, China invested heavily in renewable energy and became a global leader in hydropower, wind power and sunlight. China's dependence on energy imports is expected to last decades despite the Chinese government striving to expand the use of non-fossil fuels. In this episode we welcome Professor Zha Daojiong to discuss the risks associated with China's external energy dependence and how Beijing is trying to mitigate these risks. | December 8, 2016

This may reduce the volume of transactions for certain products such as clothing and electronic equipment. This could also damage China's economy.
