Introduction An organization is a group of people with purpose. These people may differ in their beliefs, their perceptions of reality and values. Resources within an organization are often small and can cause conflicts. Strong people will allocate these resources and play an important role in influencing other people in the organization. The extent to which individuals are likely to influence depends greatly on the strength of their structure and interpersonal relationships. In this article I will explain the personal expertise of three individuals I personally know. Chris Tierney, owner of small business, neuroscientist and author David Levy.
Knowledge is power. The power of experts arises from having knowledge and expertise in specific fields. These people are highly appreciated by the organization for their ability to solve problems. People with specialized authority are considered essential to carry out important tasks. The opinions, ideas and decisions of people with expert power are highly appreciated by other employees, so they will have a big impact on their behavior. Having authority as an expert is often a steppingstone to other sources of power such as legal authority. For example, you can promote a person with authority as an expert to a senior management and give legal authority.
The power of experts is the power of knowledge and some people can influence others through the relevant expertise of a particular field. In some cases, a professional's power may be stronger than a leader, as expert power is regarded as a function of the amount of human knowledge relative to others in the group. To solve problems caused by lack of expert knowledge, it is a strong relationship with workers and subordinates. Because the strong connection between the leader and the follower takes time to develop, the claimed force is a potential influence of a person. The greater the influence of the interaction between the leader and the follower, the stronger the relationship will be.
The power of an expert refers to the ability of an individual to influence others' behavior, due to recognized knowledge, skills or ability. Doctors have expertise, because they are considered to have specialized knowledge, special skills or knowledge. Most people obey the doctor's advice. Computer specialists, tax accountants and economists have power with their expertise. Even though experts are ranked lower in the organization's hierarchy, they also have authority. As organizations become more technically complex and specialized, the expertise of the members of the organization at all levels of the hierarchy becomes more important. Some companies intentionally include lower-level staff with skilled authority in the top level decision. Knowledge is a powerful force in today's high-tech workplace
