Social adaptation plays an important role in the durability of university students. Social media such as Facebook etc. widely used by such people may positively promote the transition of students to university by promoting connection and exchange between peers. In this study, we studied the role of Facebook in social adaptation of freshman college students, using survey data collected by students of the Mid-Western University of the Arts and Sciences (N = 338). We will develop and test models that include traditional Facebook-specific social support and social adaptation predictions.
