The decision to colonize New South Wales in the late 18th century was influenced by a series of social and political circumstances developed throughout the UK throughout the 18th century. The British society has undergone drastic changes due to the industrial revolution, the rising birth rate, and the higher age of death. Due to the rapid rise in the birthrate, many people found jobs and desperately turned to crime. In 1776, the UK lost the United States of America as a colony and was also a place to send criminals.
The sociological approach examines potential social situations that may affect criminal activity by focusing on how social structures and processes contribute to crime. Life History Criminology focuses on tragic or life paths that can lead to lifelong or repetitive crime. The sociological theory of criminal behavior is how people see the environment. From a sociological point of view, one person suffers from the intimacy, imitation and behavior of the people they see, and understanding of their good and evil (Bartol & Bartol, 2011).

His social thinking is considered as one of the most important social theories, humanistic theories focusing on the individual's position in social situation and social structure. Marx was known as one of the greatest thinkers of the 19th century. His political theory is revolutionary. As a sociologist, he is considered to be the "great heir of the Enlightenmentism" who developed and developed using important concepts of the thinkers of the 18th century. This paper aims to explore the comparison between Karl Marx's theory and the philosophy of enlightenment. I try to answer the question: What was the work Marx inherited from enlighten thinker? For this purpose, I will discuss key concepts of enlightenment that is further developed in Marx's work.
