Evolving as a Society: Puritans in the New World

Puritan believed that when evil happened, it was due to a deep crime against God. John Winthrop warned his fellow Puritan in his sermons "Christian Charity Model". He pointed out that their main purpose in sailing across the Atlantic is to "become a mountain city" and purify the English church. He condemns those who contribute to something else - for example to increase their wealth and other economic interests. But because of Winthrop 's contempt, many Puritans traveled to New England for reasons other than freedom of religion.

Puritan played an important role in American history, but since the 17th century it did not affect American society. Puritan came to the New World to seek religious tolerance which is a well-known fundamental human right in America, but refused to accept people who do not agree with faith. Puritan did not create a democratic form that is being used by the US government today. Our government system is derived from UK institutions. Finally, the ethical principles many Americans follow today derive from the Baptist church, faith, and presbyterian beliefs, not Puritan's faith.

When Puritan went to the New World, they created a society using a strict Puritan philosophy. Philosophy points out that everyone must strive hard for spiritual integrity and can not tolerate it. Puritan believed that magic was one of human's greatest spiritual weaknesses. Puritan's main responsibility was to always be in the hands of God. There is no room for innocence in Puritan's faith, there is no way to dispel human cheating. If you commit a crime, I believe that God can drive you off the ground any time. This is the most concerned problem of Puritan.

Puritan believed that the introduction of a new world in the 17th century not only had a religious influence on the new settlers, but also influenced politics, the economy, and society. Puritanism emphasizes "to believe in the absolute sovereignty of God, complete degeneracy of mankind, and the importance of human beings who rely entirely on God's grace to obtain human salvation."
