Benjamin Solomon Carson was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 18, 1951. He is the second son of Sonya and Robert Solomon Carson. His mother grew up in a large family in Tennessee State and dropped out of school as a third grader. Due to the limited likelihood of life she got married to Pastor Baptist and factory worker Robert Carson at the age of 13. The couple moved to Detroit and gave birth to two children. However, Sonya eventually learned that the husband is a couple and there is another secret family. After the couple divorced, Robert moved to another family, Sonya and her children had economic problems.

Benjamin Solomon Carson Sr. (born September 18, 1951) is an American politician, writer, former neurosurgeon, and since the beginning of 2017 he has served as the 17th U.S. residential urban development secretary under the Trump regime. Prior to joining the Cabinet, he served as the presidential candidate for the US in the 2016 Republican primary election. From 1984 he served as a director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland, until retirement in 2013.
