Evaluating National Environmental Health Association’s (NEHA) Performance Management

The mission statement is the definition of the reason for the organization and the basis for all that they do (Aguinis, 2009). In addition, the Vision statement is the direction the organization wishes to develop in the future (Cady, Wheeler, DeWolf, and Brodke, 2011). It is therefore important to confirm that the organization has a clear and concise excellent mission and vision. PACAT was developed to clearly define the criteria of performance and capacity that all environmental hygiene systems and programs should pursue. PACAT was originally developed from 2004 to 2005 under the National Public Health Performance Center (NPHPS) program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In 2006, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention developed Environmental Public Health Performance Standards (EnvPHPS) to improve national environmental sanitation services. DEHS built its approach to the American Indian / Alaska Native People (AI / AN) community, incorporating its three core functions and 10 basic health services.
