Background: Lumbar degenerative lumbar spondylolysis (LDS) is degenerative spondylolisthesis of the lumbar spine. We aimed to evaluate the outcome of degenerative lumbar spondylolysis due to nerve decompression surgery, pedicle screw fixation, reduction and posterior lateral fusion. METHODS: Forty-five patients (37 women and 8 men) who underwent LDS treatment between August 2008 and January 2011 were studied before and after. Patient's pain and disability (ODI) questionnaires were evaluated by visual analog scale (VAS) and Oswestry disability index.
Degenerative spondylolisthesis is a condition that occurs when a vertebra slides below it. This is usually caused by the natural aging process of the human body. There, we will weaken the joints, ligaments and bones of the spine and will not keep the spine aligned. Usually this condition is characterized by leg pain, back or sciatic nerve pain, pain in one or both legs.
Musculoskeletal pain arises from bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, intervertebral discs and facet joints. Facet joint arthritis is an example of chronic pain that can be caused by degenerative changes in the spine (7). Degenerative changes in the musculoskeletal system can also cause neuropathic pain. Changes in degenerative discs often result in nerve compression, disc herniation, spondylolidosis and spinal stenosis (8).
Orthopedic or orthopedic surgery, also known as orthopedic surgery, is a field of surgery involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use surgical and nonsurgical methods to treat musculoskeletal injuries, spinal diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infectious diseases, tumors and congenital diseases. Nicholas Andry created an orthodox word in French that derives from ancient Greek ὀρθόςorthos ("correct", "direct") and παιδίονprimaion ("child"). In 1741, this word was assimilated into English as a brace, but at that time, in Greek and Latin articles it was common to combine. As its name suggests, this training was originally developed with a focus on children, but correcting spinal and skeletal malformations at various stages of life is ultimately an orthopedic practice It became the essence of.
