Despite the importance of globalization, international multimodal transportation systems are being increasingly reviewed to support new cargo, quantity and distance regulation during cargo transport. Technical improvements continue to enable more efficient movement of large quantities of goods. Multimodal transportation system is essential for further globalization. However, the transportation system itself is not necessarily the reason for strengthening international trade. Therefore, international trade needs to broaden the foundation to secure trade among many partners.

GDP: The air transport industry in Europe and North America contributes most to GDP when comparing the whole region. In 2004, North America accounted for 37% of the global employment in the aviation industry, accounting for over 50% of the contribution of air transportation to the world's GDP. Europe accounts for approximately 27% of the world's air transportation and employment and gross domestic product (see regional annex on page 23). • Air transport will improve the productivity of the world economy. By improving the transportation network, the market in which the company operates will expand. As a result, companies can reduce cost by utilizing economies of scale and concentrate on areas with comparative advantages. By opening the market, aviation services will encourage companies to face more intense competition and improve efficiency.

Road transport is becoming increasingly common as a means of transporting Nigerians to Europe. Traffickers travel to North Africa, the Middle East and Europe, using the road connecting North Nigeria and Niger.
