Euphemisms and Context: Social Research

Introduction The origins of animals, plants, food and other vocabulary are used to describe humans and their activities. These names can be actively used as approval conditions, or conversely negative and rejected. When people use among people, this customary explanation can be seen as "feeling and strengthening the relationship between them, they feel like they are at home" (Altman 1990: 504) . Causes of dynamic ambiguity may change depending on various groups, culture, situation (workplace environment including family and friends, private life etc).

As a common language phenomenon of world culture, euphemism is widely used in various social classes and fields. As one of many euphemisms in the world, English euphemism has its deep origin, including religious origin and history, and literary origin. This paper attempts to explore the origin of English euphemism from various aspects of religion, race, politics, literature, history. Language reflects life and is always closely related to society. In the process of communication, due to certain limitations on behavior and ethics, people tend to use euphemisms - they are used as lubricants to make harsh and easy-to-understand words wisely and pleasant. The euphemism of English plays a very important role in people's social interaction. This paper also explains the social communication function of English euphemism from three perspectives: avoidance function, polite function and beauty function.

As an important part of English, the euphemism of English is seen everywhere, and it is widely used for people's daily communication. This paper conducts a preliminary investigation on the origin of euphemism in English and the function of social communication. However, this type of exploration is under development as euphemism has developed. Euphemism begins with every aspect of social life and develops with social progress. Euphemism in English is a mirror of Western culture in English form. From the moment it was born, it has a distinct cultural color. Euphemism expressly reflects the essential connection between cultural tradition, social values, and linguistic form. In voice interactions, sometimes, not polite or playful, people use comfortable and non-direct words, not unpleasant words. Using euphemism is a practical strategy that speakers behave in anticipation under specific circumstances at specific times.

Euphemisms - From Greek "good words", euphemism is a more pleasant or less aggressive alternative to generic offensive words and concepts. Euphemism can be used to comply with social or political correctness criteria, or to add humorous or sarcastic discreet expression. It is an example of euphemism to say that "still exists" rather than "oppose". Type - the main category of literary work. The fundamental difference in literature is prose, poetry and drama. However, genres are flexible terms, and among these broad boundaries there are many subdivisions commonly referred to as the genre itself. For example, prose is divided into novels (novels and short stories) or non-fiction (prose, biography, autobiography, etc.). Poetry can be divided into lyrics, theater, stories, epics and so on. Drama can be divided into tragedy, comedy, melodrama, farce and so on.
