Ethics Case 6-4: Ethics Case report for Rate of Return

Damon Investments manages investment trusts mainly speculative stocks. Recently, I saw advertisements claiming 21% investment income of these funds. As this ratio looks high, you call friends working for Damon's competitors. This friend tells you that a return of 21% will be determined by dividing the two-year valuation of the fund's investment by the average investment. In other words, the fund that invested 100 dollars two years ago will increase to 121 dollars (21 dollars / 100 dollars = 21%).

Normative ethics is norm ethics, which is the specific discipline dealt with in this report. And the various ethical issues that society faces (Gert, 2002). There are three major theoretical frameworks of normative ethics - resultism, morality, and virtue ethics - and they propose different reasoning methods to explain that they are "right" or "wrong" (See Box 1). The position of a person thinks that "correct" or "wrong" should be determined by the influence of behavior. Over the years, a series of ethical analysis methods in HTA has been developed and proposed. However, until recently ethics has not been widely accepted in the HTA process, ethics is still "solved in the HTA report rarely". An HTA report survey issued by HTA agencies in Canada, the UK, Denmark and the United States between 2003 and 2006 showed ethical, social and organizational problems by 5%, in addition to clinical and economic assessment, (223) indicated that it was considered only in report of findings. . Critical research to evaluate the features of available ethical methods is missing. Another reason may be that as medical intervention becomes more complicated, existing methods of dealing with ethical issues in HTAs are not suitable for such intervention.
