Today I went to Chang Center in Vancouver, British Columbia and I attended the Northwest Baroque Masters program (musicians of Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Victoria, British Columbia, Toronto). In Vancouver, there is a healthy early music scene sponsored by early music Vancouver and the Pacific Baroque Orchestra. I went home with my wife (it is not common in Vancouver that there are a lot of snow). What I did first was to place my original record (Argentina Philips on the turntable). I suddenly became very happy. That record is perfect Christmas music without any sorrow. Before my life became very serious it was very happy and soon returned me to life.
This blog is about local life as it relates to writing in Vancouver, British Columbia. But the truth is that there is a wonderful baroque music scene in Vancouver where internationally renowned musicians live. MarcDestrubé (about him and the following), one of the violinists, is the main violinist of the Washington, DC string quartet played by the Smithsonian's Accel Rod String Quartet. Vancouver is also part of Portland and Seattle's brilliant baroque orchestra and we have our own Pacific Baroque Orchestra. Victoria and Montreal, and excellent musicians in Boston, New York and Europe. Vancouver's early music scene concentrated from the 18th century to the 17th century, nodding past, future and now, but almost always been played with musical instruments.
I sometimes think that "middle" is the central position of the United States. I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, and I want to write down my experience of living here. This is a blog about life in Vancouver Kitsilano (I write one each day). I often write my eldest daughter (48 years old) to live in the hinterland of the hinterland, Liluetto. She is an elementary school teacher. Staying at our seventh house of Kitsilano, Truch gives us a glimpse of the best walking / shopping experience in town. I no longer need to drive to the business district to buy Ahmed Tea. I bought it at the Broadway Persian grocery store on the west side of McDonald's (I have 10 types). But I went to the business district and bought my delicious cheese at Bossa.
