Essay on the Myths of the African American Woman in Song of Solomon

In Solomon's song, myths of African-American women are despised, through my slavery myths are created and the image of African-American women is contaminated. These myths urged people to misunderstand the abuse of African-American women, and that is actually useless. These myths degenerate these women in the eyes of others and their own. In Toni Morrison's "Solomon's Song", the definition of a woman destroyed these myths. The definition of a woman is based on human sexual desire, spirituality, beauty, identity, human relations, and childbirth.

Toni Morrison's novel "Song of Solomon" tells African-American men who pursue his personality by discovering the past of his fathers. Morrison tells stories through the role of Milk Manded's grandfather Solomon. By understanding the story of Solomon and his skyrocketing ability, Milkman discovers a strong satisfaction in his legacy and understands that he must cherish his community and family . Most stories occurred between 1931 and 1963, but intermittent flashback began in the late nineteenth century.

Solomon's songs are full of characters, especially the symbolic life is Milkman's mysterious sister Pilate who plays an important role in the woven Morrison's story.
