Ernest Hemingway Hemingway is a novelist, a short story writer, known for his passion in all his works. Many of his work are thought to be classic works of American literature, and some are even in the movies. In 1952, the "Old Man and the Sea" was published. And that is about the ancient fisherman in Cuba. Thanks to this creation, Hemingway received the Nobel Prize in literature in 1954. Hemingway was born in Oak Park, Illinois.
