Introduction There is no doubt that there is a special relationship between young people and the elderly in society. In traditional culture, the elderly provide standards of life. Essentially, this actually means that the older generation is definitely the source of young people's wisdom and good knowledge. On the other hand, young people are physically important for the elderly. They maintain society's dignity by offering them special trawls and errands.

"Good night" by Michel Magorian is the story of a little boy who evacuated from London during the Second World War. He lives in a small town called "Little Vilward" with an old man named Tom. When William Beach arrived home, Tom immediately realized that his background was poor and he was severely beaten by his mother. Everything went well until Will 's mother requested him to return to London as she was sick. Because he did not write to Mr. Tom according to his promise, he made him very suspicious, so he went searching for him.

Through the novel, the story is spoken with a limited third party perspective. It follows Mr. Uterson's character, but like the story of Maid's account Mr. Einfield, some narrative stories incorporate his view. At the end of the novel, the letters of Dr. Lanyan and Dr. Jekyll are in the first person format, but Utterson actually reads it. The story format is a way to provide suspense. From Mr. Utterson's point of view, the information the reader knows is limited. The audience knows only what Mr. Uterson knows. It provides the reader with an interest in the event and how it fits in place. If it is said by Jekyll 's view, the suspense will be minimized and it will not provide the full effect of a mysterious Gothic novel. The change of opinion finally opened everything and found the truth.
