Athletes are exposed to many environmental conditions that may affect performance and health. Physical therapists must be aware of the impact these conditions have on the performance and health of the athlete. Decisions regarding personal participation and decision to preserve the safety of the event are within the practice of physical therapists. In addition, athletes are seeking exercise training guides for various environmental conditions from sports physiotherapists. A literature search was conducted to identify problems related to sports participation in a hot and cold environment. The knowledge system in these fields is currently provided to guide sports physiotherapists' training and provide care advice to athletes. These areas include considerations for temperature regulation, heat, cold, liquid exchange, and clothing.
Unless otherwise stated, most athletes are trained and contested in most situations, regardless of environmental factors. One factor in adapting to climate change is to help reduce bad performance. Since they can adapt to the conditions, it may be advantageous to adapt the athlete to the environmental conditions they will participate in, so these conditions are not surprising for athletes. Both athletes and coaches need to understand and prepare harmful environmental factors that may impede the athlete's best performance. Proper planning to predict environmental conditions is advantageous for athletes and team performance. Although many environmental factors can not be controlled, doing homework in advance helps to limit the potential negative impact on performance.
