This course is a simple selection study of Joe's English literature at the end of the 17th century. Reading list comes from Joe's 'Canterbury Story', Shakespearean Anthony and Cleopatra, Milton's 'Paradise Lost' (Anthology), and a list including Spencer, Shakespeare, Dawn and Joan Elisabeth and Jacobia like Forest Some of the work of the poet. I introduce Chinese literature through the Canterbury story of Geoffrey Chaucer. The students read Joe's "Ordinary Prelude", "Bath's Story", "Retreat" and explored various aspects of his story technique and colorful expression. It also considers the historical background of the 14th century Britain and the importance of Joe in the English literary tradition. Activities and comments on topic selection of the Canterbury Story tell students to read and prepare their own task 1.
2017 Fall English 002 SL: Reading II 3 hours. 2 units English 002 is an intensive reading course conducted by ESL / ELL students through placement test. In this course, we will exercise important reading skills exercises with an emphasis on identifying important ideas, reasoning, moods and styles. We developed an efficient reading technique and adapted it to various teaching materials. The text is different. To pass the course, the student must pass the CUNY evaluation exam. ENGL 004 SL: English II for bilingual students 6 hours. 1 credit English 004 is an intermediate ESL / ELL course for students who passed the placement test or students who took the recommendation letters. Focus is a basic structural model of standard, written in English, mechanical conventions, vocabulary development, and dissertation organization. To pass this course, the student must pass the final exam of the department. ENGL 005 SL: Bilingual Student English III 3 Hours Students practice control in writing, develop and support their own ideas. 3 Credits
