Companion animals are a great wealth for human and pet owners for many reasons, most of which are related to health. People with companion animals have a higher chance of exercising and lowering blood pressure. The time spent with the companion animal also extends the life expectancy after a heart attack and reduces the stress of Alzheimer's disease patients. Patients who spend time with companion animals at hospitals are often more social and cooperative and can relieve pain (Willetts Health Benefits Lecture).
I always have animals, dogs and cats. I can not see their eyes and I do not believe they are "the only animal". When they "crossed the Rainbow Bridge", I was always with my favorite animal companion. It hurts me, but I will catch them as they pass by. So they will know what they are forgotten to be loved. Another reason not to use animals as food. If vegetable proteins are used directly as human foods, they can provide more protein to the earth at a lower cost than using them for animal foods to human foods. Look at the cruel video about the large agricultural farm - see if you can see it until the end. I can not do it. Large scale farms are the main source of pollution.
In this article I will explain the fundamental difference between cruel animals law concerning companion animals and livestock in Europe and America. First, I will show the rationale for the animal law in the USA and Europe. Next is a thorough discussion about companion animals. Finally, all aspects of livestock law are studied, from livestock management to transportation and ultimate slaughter. In the United States there are three major federal regulations concerning animal welfare. It is humanitarian massacre (described later), "18 hours of 1877 law" (see also below), and "American Welfare Law of America". These three federal laws do not regulate the treatment of animals raised on farms and do not regulate the treatment of companion animals. In addition, the United States does not have a federal anti-cruel law
In Switzerland, Germany, Norway, there is no special provision on companion animals in the Animal Protection Act. General rules apply to companion animals. All three countries recognize that protection of animal welfare is not only for humans in contact with animals, but for the benefit of animals. In the United States, treatment of animals raised on farms is not regulated by federal regulations. Instead, it is regulated by domestic anti-cruel regulations. Since more than half of the provinces are immunized from common feeding methods, these regulations regulate only some animals on the farm. This means that domestic animals are inherently unprotected in countries where normal feeding methods are exempted. These animals may be systematically abused without restoration. Even in countries where livestock can not comply with anti-cruel laws it is often difficult to refer the case to the court.
