"Encyclopedia of social work" converts classical reference works of the same name into social service resources updated throughout life. The digital encyclopedia was developed through a unique partnership between the Social Worker Association and the Oxford University Publications Department and summarized the expertise of each field leader. More than 1 million people died of suicide every year worldwide. In the United States, about 42,000 people died of suicide every year, and suicide occurred every 12.3 minutes. This is the tenth major cause of global death and the second leading cause of death among young people under 24 years of age.
