Writers like Ann Radcliffe, and classic horror stories such as Frankenstein and Dracula continue to be traditional. Its type itself is inspired by the architecture that inspires: medieval castles and ruins, where there are many of Gothic literature, often playing an important role in the plot of the story. Over the years, Gothic literature has evolved to include sub-ethnic, such as Nangorian literature, that occurred in South America and was associated with many beloved writers, Flanari O'Connor and William Faulkner. Today, the tradition of Gothic continues to exist in works of writers like Joyce Carrol Oats and Julia Eliot.

Gothic literature began in Europe in 1765. Gothic literature includes mysteries, fears, violence, and supernatural phenomena. The first Gothic work was made in the castle of Thorace Walpole. Two major authors, Hawthorne and Poe, had a great influence on Gothic literature and made it like today. They all wrote about the human condition and humanity of Gothic literature. Although the two authors write the theme of Gothic, the two have similarities in different respects, and Edgar Allan Poe has many tragedies in his life. He has failed many careers and lost many women who likes him and is nearby. His short story mainly includes attention to the reader's thought. Nathaniel Hawthorne 's work belongs to romantic and dark romanticism. His subject is usually guilty, sinful and evil. In Hawthorne 's short story, he focuses on attracting the reader' s mind.

Gothic literature is a very unique writing style. Edgar Allan Poe and Nathaniel Hawthorne completed this subtype of style known as American Gothic literature. Po and Hawthorne have very different concepts about this writing style. When you write the same kind of style, you will read the difference in their work.
