BLS currently announces new employment forecast every two years. However, in order to improve the timeliness of forecast data and occupational forecast handbook (OOH), the employment forecasting program will move to annual forecast. By moving to annual forecasting, we will be able to incorporate new research more quickly into published forecasts, thereby improving overall quality. In addition, the non-projection information of OOH is updated "in real time", not every two years.

According to the BLS Employment Prediction (EP) program, the employment scale in 2012 is relatively small - this is the base year for the latest forecast data for many creative professions described in this article. Employment forecast data includes self-employment common in these occupations. Job offers are expected to change between 2012 and 2022. (See Table 2) The number of employees in Table 2 in 2012 is close to 1.1 million. Employment by occupation varies from industry to industry. For example, nearly half of flower designers are working in a flower shop. In contrast, editorial employment is not concentrated in one industry. 18% are newspapers, 10% are self-employed, the rest work in many industries including advertisement and television broadcasting.
