Advances in medical technology have given new insight into further development and research of stem cells. The use of stem cells in regenerative medicine can bring great benefit to people with degenerative diseases. In order to take advantage of these advances in stem cell research, we see that the pain of millions of deads worldwide is alleviated or completely cured annually. (McLaren, 2001) Stem cell 1 can differentiate any somatic cells found in adults, including the same cells as themselves.

Discussions on financing for embryonic stem cell research are highly dependent on the ethical state of the study. There are two main arguments surrounding the ethics of embryonic stem cell research: research is ethically important due to the unique possibilities of embryonic stem cells to heal disease which is currently incurable disease. This research is immoral as it requires destruction of life in the form of an embryo or a fetus.
