Ellen Ochoa

Mr. Ellen Ochoa recently retired from the Federal Army as head of the NASA Johnson Space Center heading the country's human space flight company. She is an experienced astronaut, serving as a crew member of four space shuttle missions, serving as a flight engineer at the initiative of scientific activities onboard, operation of robotic arm, start of mission, rendezvous, and entry phase I played a role. . Prior to being appointed as the Director of the Center, he served as deputy director for five years, but he previously led the astronaut office and the Flight Steering Committee to manage the operation of the aircraft.

As the first Hispanic female astronaut, Dr. Ochoa made over 300 presentations on the importance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics education. Dr. Ochoa's career began as research engineer at Sandia National Laboratories and NASA Ames Research Center. She has acquired three patents in the field of optical information processing and has numerous publications in specialized journals. She is a researcher at the American Aerospace Laboratory (AIAA), the American Science Promotion Association (AAAS), and the National Institute of Invention and Innovation (NAI).

Dr. Ochoa is a member of various directors and is currently serving as chairman of the National Technology Innovation Achievement Awards Assessment Committee. She has worked at the Board of Stanford University for ten years and is a member of the Stanford University Engineering Advisory Committee and the Aerospace Agency Access Committee.

The United public school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, recently opened a new elementary school named after her. The Pasco Ochoa High School rocket logo flag of Washington State flew to the ozone at the Space Shuttle Atlantis in April 2002 for an 11-day mission.
