In the past, our society has always had problems with abuses of the elderly, but it is always a hidden problem and has been recognized by our community. It is difficult to understand the seriousness of the problem unless this problem is encountered in your life. As a result of the reported case, society is truly beginning to recognize this problem. There are many types of elderly cruelty that can be reported to health care providers; however, many cases remain unreported and victims of the elderly continue to be abused.
In this article, we first define the definition of elder abuse, then briefly explain the problem of elder abuse. It will then continue to discuss the causes and consequences of the elder abuse. Then I will outline how we responded to our policies and practices in the future concerning the abuse of the elderly: In 2002, a working group report on abuse was made public. It then ends by evaluating these responses. Abuse of the elderly is "lack of singular or repetitive behavior, or appropriate action, with confidence that could lead to injuries and suffering to the elderly, or the infringement of his human rights and citizens' rights" .
Abuse of elderly people by carers is a global problem. In 2002, the World Health Organization expressed concern about the abuse of the elderly in the international community. Over the years, government agencies and regional experts from around the world have designated senior abuse as a social problem. In 2006, the International Elderly Abuse Prevention Network (INPEA) designated June 15 as World Aberdeen Awareness Day (WEAAD) and held an event to raise awareness of elderly abuse the same day.
