Effects of Natural Disasters on Global Society

I chose to write about the impact of natural disasters on the global society. In the past few years, thousands of people are killed by natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, forest fires, tornadoes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and floods. Research shows that natural disasters are becoming common due to climate change. Natural disasters are divided into climate-related disasters and geophysical disasters. Climate related disasters include floods, forest fires, hurricanes, and tsunamis.

Due to its nature, a disaster is an unexpected event at the time of its occurrence or place, and in particular there is a possibility of failing in the protection mechanism of civil society. On a global scale, disasters occur on average at least once per day, the frequency of disasters increases with climate change, the number of people whose population density increases will increase, but as a whole the mortality from natural disasters It decreases. Correspondingly, a method of public health intervention targeting the population is needed. Actual support and community support is essential to the immediate outcome of the event, but mental health professionals rarely provide this care. In addition, the population-based approach can provide primary and secondary prevention interventions and promote evidence-based practice
