Education Inequality for Girls in China: Identifying Issues and Solutions of Gender Inequality

The purpose of this paper is to study problems and find solutions to girls' gender inequality in Chinese education. According to Ridgeway (2011), gender inequality is considered sexual act, most men and women are more advantageous than most other members of other gender. According to social expectations, men play a more dominant and dominant role in society than women (Egbo, 2009). Male superiority is reflected in education, health, employment and compensation (Klasen & Lamanna, 2009).

Gender equality is fundamental human rights. Gender inequality occurs in various places such as education and workplace. Gender inequality in education is a big problem. Girls are more likely than not boys entering the classroom. Although there has been some progress in the past twenty years, now it will be impossible for more than 15 million elementary school students to have the opportunity to learn how to read and write, this is a very big problem. Girls' education has various obstacles. It may be limited from supply side to negative social norms. Some of these include tuition fees, strong cultural norms, and these norms are suitable for boys' education when family resources are limited. Inadequate hygiene facilities such as lack of personal toilet and independent toilet, negative classroom environment where girls may face violence, exploitation or corporal punishment
