Education in a Sociological Sense: Article Summaries

I chose two articles about education. The first article shows whether education plays an important role in the Scottish religion, but the second article is trying to connect education achievement and cultural capital. This challenge will summarize the article I chose to read, which will give me a broader understanding of sociological education than my initial knowledge. The first article to cover is about the role of education in Scottish religion.

The general research provided in this bibliography covers a wide range of topics in the field of educational sociology. Aram and others. In 2011, the integration of articles related to modern educational sociology research provided many of the foundations of the articles contained in this article. These measurements range from a theoretical point of view (status acquisition, social mobility, etc.) to a more racist analysis that is related to the achievement gap and apartheid. Readers should refer to Becker 1975, Bourdieu and Passeron 1974, Coleman 1966 and Schultz 1961 to further understand the theoretical foundations and the beginnings of educational sociology. More contemporary works such as Coleman 1988 and Putnam 1995 are included below. Alternative frameworks such as Durkheim 1956 and Bowles and Gintis 1976 also provide the basis for understanding educational sociology.
