Edgar Allan Poe's Use of Suspense and Symbolism in The Masque of the Red Death

Suspense is the sense of uncertainty or excitement while waiting for results and decisions. Edgar Allan Poe used suspense using details and exquisite details in his story "Red Death Mask". The story of Poe is about the attempt to get rid of the inevitable prince. He tried to shut itself out from "red death" and made a pretense not to end happily. The prince and all his guests died in or around the seventh apartment. Before the seventh room there are six color rooms symbolizing the stage of life, that is seven sins.

The author, Allan Poe, uses words that may lead to illusion and misunderstanding, in order to distrust the reader through the story called "Mask of The Red Death". Symbols such as colorful rooms, impressive watches, and party celebrations make this story feel like a fairytale. Poe used this fairy tale style and turned it into a disguise's nightmare.
