The short story "Northern Faust" was written by Ed Kleiman. The story depicts the way he became a hero, Alex and ultimately an isolated individual. The word Faust in the title is the name of the famous German legend's hero, which resembles this story. Even if he was very successful, Faust was dissatisfied with his life. Therefore he decided to reach an agreement with the devil to give him great knowledge and happiness in exchange for his soul. In this short story, he was a lonely ranger from childhood, and he was acknowledged worldwide for his success in an isolated room. Then through a series of events it causes his spiritual collapse and loses everything

Ed Kreiman was born in 1932 and grew up at the northern tip of Winnipeg. After that, he went to the University of Manitoba where he got a BA in literature. Six years later he got a master's degree from the University of Toronto. He then returned to Winnipeg where he served as a lecturer and associate professor at the Department of English at the University of Manitoba. While I was in college, he wrote two short stories. The first of them is "immortal" published in 1980, the second is "new discovery ecstasy" published in 1988. After retiring in 1996, Kleinman published his third book, The World Batter.
