Puerto Rican parrot was designated as an endangered species in 1967. It is the only traditional parrot species in Puerto Rico, and is the only parrot species in the United States. It decreased population from 47 to 23 when Hurricane Hugo passed the range of species in September 1989. Image source: USFWS
Hurricanes not only affect individuals, families, and communities, but also have a major impact on the environment, especially at estuaries and coastal habitats. A hurricane generates a strong wind that can completely destroy the forest crown and cause dramatic structural changes in the ecology with trees. Animals may be indirectly killed by hurricanes or by changes in habitat and food supply caused by strong winds, storm surges and heavy rains. Endangered species, such as Amazona Vitta, could be severely affected and its population declined to half the original size in 1989 after the storm passed. Hurricane Gilbert advertised Cozumel Slasher (Toxostoma guttatum). In addition to affecting animals, storm surges and dangerous waves move large amounts of sand and eventually shape the coastal landscape. Due to hurricanes such as Ivan (2004), Katrina and Rita (2005), Gustav and Ike (2008), coastline change in some areas was about 100 meters (328 feet). Land damage caused only by Hurricane Katrina and Rita is estimated to be approximately 73 square miles.
By changing the environmental conditions of coastal habitats, hurricanes caused a series of direct and indirect ecological reactions, from direct to long-term. In terms of environmental impact, the two hurricanes do not resemble each other. Individual characteristics such as speed, size, strength, rainfall of storm play an important role in the type and time range of the hurricane. According to many of these factors, even tropical storms can cause serious damage to property and natural resources.
Hurricanes are good for rain, but they can also destroy life. Hurricanes can collapse buildings, eradicate trees, disassemble transmission lines, and cause flooding. Hurricane creates strong wind and heavy rain. Large amounts of water can cause mold and this is very dangerous. Hurricanes and big storms affect many countries and families. - Silvia Glasswood, the protagonist of Silvia Plath's "Bell Jar" casts under her own frustrated spells, the story released from that spell follows the creation of Christopher Booker 7. The structure of one of the plot types The prototypes of these seven plots include mission, voyage and return, comedy, tragedy, conquest of monsters, destruction of wealth, and finally reborn prototypes.
Hurricanes damaged coastal ecosystems and communities. When a hurricane reaches land, it usually produces waves of up to 6 meters (20 feet) and is propelled by the strong wind of 161 kilometers (100 miles) inland. These storm surges are extremely dangerous, causing 90% of hurricanes to die. The most deadly hurricane in history was a hurricane in 1750. At the time there were no complicated weather equipment, but the wind speed could reach 320 km / h (200 mph), as hurricanes hit Barbados in the Caribbean Sea and other islands. This may be enough to strip the bark. Hurricane attacked Barbados, St. Lucia, Martinique, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Turks, Caicos Islands and Bermuda Islands and killed more than 20,000 people in hurricanes. The intensity declined, but the hurricane was tracked in Florida, then dissipated in Newfoundland, Canada.
