The gap between Global North and Global South is caused by global and South economic and human development levels compared to Global North. The four fundamental factors that led to the lack of global southern development are institution, culture, geography and imperialism / colonialism. Global North means "developed countries such as Western Europe, North America, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, which are part of the global capitalist structure integration system" (McLean and Wood, p. 245).
The North-South gap is a socio-economic and political inconsistency. Global North includes advanced regions in North America, Western Europe and East Asia. In the south of the world, developing countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia are included. North is the 4 seats of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. Yes, five countries have unbalanced power in making decisions against other countries in the world! I think there are many problems with this concept of difference between the north and south. First of all, these 'entities' talking about the solidarity of the world are among the first to divide these boundaries into elite groups based on socio-economic and political power. What I think is interesting is how to turn 90 strange countries into big buckets and treat them as "entities".
Historically, even in the northern states of the world, discussions on globalization always occurred there. Currently, many human rights activists and individuals in economically developing countries warn of the danger of globalization, more specifically the behavior of economic power (domestic or corporate) and the impact of these decisions on the global south . Certain human rights or environmental breaches occur. However, in the early 2000s, for example in the 2004 World Economic Forum held in Davos, many people asked whether globalization is realistically possible and whether globalization is realistic in a globalized and interrelated world It raised doubts.
