I studied the earthquake and chose to predict the earthquake. In 1782, about 40,000 people were murdered by the tsunami (or hurricane) in the South China Sea. The most deadly tsunami before 2004 was the Italian earthquake in Messina in 1908, about 123,000 people died in the earthquake and tsunami.

The tsunami surprised the geologist. Since the earthquake is a side-slip earthquake, it is expected that the tsunami will be at a low altitude of about 2 meters maximum. During the side-slip earthquake, the motion of the crust is predominantly horizontal, and most of the tsunami occurs in the event of vertical motion. One explanation is that the earthquake caused a water slope and caused a tsunami. According to the report, over 70,000 houses were destroyed and thousands of people were forced to live in evacuation centers and tents. The majority of mosques and Antapur hospitals collapsed in the provincial capital Palu in central Sulawesi province. Palatur's Tatura Mall is one of Palu's oldest shopping centers, with dozens of people collapsing. The 8-story hotel called Roa-Roa hotel also collapsed and attracted many guests.
