Early Response to Recovery: Relief for Missouri Flood Victims

A large rainfall occurred in the Midwest in May 2017. This is an unusual occurrence of 1000 years that made history a part of the worst flood in the history of the United States. Because the area of ​​rainfall is as much as 12 inches, it is necessary for floods to pass through homes, businesses, rural roads, and interstate highways. The flood deprived Missouri of the lives of five people and more than 20,000 people were forced to evacuate. After the water level went down, thousands of families came back to their community and learned that their houses were severely damaged or completely destroyed. With limited government aid, these weak families do not need to repair, exchange furniture and pay for the expenses to meet their daily needs.

Good 360 and Gleaning provided a great need for relief to cooperate between the world and the VOAD of Missouri in order to meet the enormous demand of Missouri state. Through joint efforts, we will provide early response projects and long-term recovery needs to people who have lost almost all. Two truck products from Good 360 arrived in Missouri carrying Hasbro Play Relief Kit, United Airlines Blanket and Pillow, CVS Personal Hygiene Items, 3M Protective Equipment etc.

National VOAD will promote the distribution of products from the Multi-Agency Resource Center, which is a recovery support store in Missouri MARC or one stop. People from all walks of life come here to find the basic items that their family desperately needs. The impact of these donations will play an important role in helping to alleviate the economic and emotional burdens of these families and to support the reconstruction of a community in which life has ever changed.

Good 360 is focused on responding at the site of the disaster and it helps the community to complete the various stages of the recovery process. We stayed there until the renovation of the house from the mud and the internal organs of the building. Good 360 helps the community recover from the disaster through partnership with Gleaning for the World and VOAD (Missouri State) and helps to build a more resilient community for the future.

Flood relief in Mozambique: We are offering an emergency relief fund to flood victims of Mozambique's Red Cross Society. We supported the Mozambique · Christian Council for follow-up for flood recovery and reconstruction. Early this year the flood affected over 2 million people. Many people were forced to escape with only clothing and inevitably were looking for food, clothes, medicine, shelter. Mozambique Green Zone Cooperative Association: Ambassador Valeriano Ferríãão, Ambassador of the Maputo Cooperative Association (UGC) in Spring 2000, has 183 "Green Zone" agricultural cooperatives, of which 95% is 5,000. The member is a woman. Ambassador Ferrãão's visit provided support for these flood disaster cooperatives. Services provided by UGC include micro finance projects that help women receive loans to start small and medium enterprises in the informal sector. This fund also funds UGC.
