Writer E.B. White was born in Mount Vernon, New York on July 11, 1899. His parents named him Elwyn Brooks White, but he did not appreciate that name. "I did not like Alvin, because my name was exhausted, my mother cut it to me," he told the New York Times in 1980. "I am her sixth child"
When he joined Cornell University, White was nicknamed "Andy" he was familiar with in his life. While attending college, he worked as an editor of the school newspaper and after graduating in 1921, he worked as a journalist for many years. He worked at the United Press and the Seattle Times and last year in the New Yorker magazine in 1927. For the rest of his career, he works in this literary publication.
White also met Katherine, my wife, editor and writer of New York. The couple got married in 1929
In addition to his work for New Yorkers, White is involved in other literary projects. Did he and James Thurpo write the humorous book "Sex is necessary" in 1929? Or, why do you feel what you are doing? White also created classical works in child literature. His first book for children was published in 1945. Stuart Little talks about the fun adventure of a mouse living with a human family in New York City.
By the end of the 1930's, White and his family spent most of their time at Maine's farmhouse. One day, White found a spider in Maine's barn spinning an oocyst. This encounter inspired Charlotte's Net (1952), his most beloved work, about the friendship between the spider named Charlotte and Wilbur.
White is known for his child's job, but he continues to write for adults. The classic of his literature, the New York Times, was published as an article in 1948 and then reprinted in the form of a book in the second year This is a typical explanation of Big Apple's experience. He also modified the earlier work of William Strunk Jr. and in 1959 he published his view on "Fashion Element". The recommendations in this famous book will help shape and stimulate many future writers.
White was awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1963. He followed this outcome for his young reader's third classic, "Swan Trumpet" (1970). In 1971, White got a literary award.
White wrote countless poems and essays throughout his life; his essay collection was published in 1977. In the same year, White's wife died. He was destroyed by that loss
On 1 October 1985, White died at the house of Brooklyn, Maine. According to the New York Times, he is 86 years old and suffers from Alzheimer's disease. White survived his son Joel, his successor Roger Angel and Nancy Stableford, and countless grandchildren and great-grandchild
Many of us first contacted E.B. White through his classic children's book on animals (Stuart Little, who?). Naturally, E.B. White is an animal's animal. He is also angry with his dog, especially his dog. He often writes about their unfortunate events and comments on their current events with their POV in his work for the famous magazine "New Yorker". From these articles edited by his granddaughter Martha White, his obvious affection from white cognac to wit and his puppy came.
I talked about an old writer in New York, such as E.B. White. He is still answering a lot of his thesis. Since all these people are journalists, 80% of what they are doing is garbage; this is the essence of only a beast. But E. B. is close to some articles, these articles are mere modest and smooth modes, and are mere expression preferences. A.J. Liebling writing various articles. I am constantly attracted to writers who own, not a humorist. Just for giving a little humor and a relaxed feeling, the sentences always have twists; I am always fascinated by such people
