DuBois and Black Nationalism

We critically discussed the contributions of Booker T. Washington and W. E. B DuBois to African-American nationalism. What are the main obstacles they face when explaining the black nationalist ideology? Booker · T · Washington is "American political leader, educator, writer" and proved to be one of the most important persons in the history of African-Americans (Booker, paragraph 1 ). Booker T. Washington and W.E. B. Dubois are both the earliest leaders of the fight for black equality. Washington may become an excellent black spokesperson at the turn of the century. DuBois is one of the founder of the National Association for the promotion of colored people. Both of them agreed that the black people are fully involved in this goal both economically and politically in American society. Differences in their backgrounds have led two different conclusions on how to achieve this goal. Booker T. Washington was born slavery. I grew up in the south, trying to help him pay at college and teach black schoolchildren in the south, he noticed a painful inequality faced by southern blacks in their daily lives.

W. E. B. DuBois is an intellectual and co-founder of the Black Association of Color Improvement Association (NAACP), opposed discrimination and has written some noteworthy articles about black American experience. The following is his epoch-making "black soul" against Booker T. Washington's criticism. The most impressive thing in the history of the black Americans since 1876 is the advantage of Booker T. Washington. ... Mr. Washington stands for the old attitude of blacks thinking of coordination and obedience; but adjusts such a special time to make his program unique. The Washington plan naturally becomes an economic entity, the gospel of work and money, and that degree almost completely obscures the high goal of life.
