For example, a 30-year-old woman has a risk of inflammatory reactions, which is a protective mechanism and an important basic concept in pathophysiology. Inflammation is a normal defense mechanism in the body and is designed to identify and remove harmful substances. The most common type of Down's syndrome is trisomy 21. This type occurs in about 90 to 95% of patients with Down's syndrome. This type of syndrome occurs before conception and occurs when chromosome 21 does not divide. This abnormal gamete then adds normal gametes during conception and forms fertilized eggs with three # 21 chromosomes. Another type of Down's syndrome is mosaic down syndrome and affects 2% to 5% of cases of Down's syndrome. Mosaic Down Syndrome occurs when one of 21 chromosomes is lost or repeated during fertilization. The last Down's syndrome is called translocation Down syndrome. It is also the least common form of this syndrome. As with trisomy 21 syndrome, translocation Down syndrome has three # 21 chromosomes. However, one of the 21 chromosomes is not isolated and adheres to other chromosomes. Two of the # 21 chromosomes may bind to other chromosomes.
