Dominican Sisters of Houston

Kitties' sisters were born in Houston, Texas. She lives in Houston with her parents, three brothers and sisters, and many big families. Sisters of Kitty attended St. Christopher Catholic School, Peace Queen Catholic School, St. Agnes College. "I like St. Agnes." She likes all the extracurricular activities, especially volleyball, basketball and stage performances.

After graduating from the University of St. Agnes, Katy 's sisters entered the monastery of Sacred Heart in 1957. She told her that she encouraged her Dominican Republic sisters to enter

Sister Chitty (Sister John Catherine) got a bachelor 's degree in English and history from the University of Dominica and then received a master' s degree in education at Lake University. Her first educational task was St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Port Necessity, Texas. After three years at Port Neches she went to the Sacred Heart Catholic Scool in Austin, Texas. During the 18 years of Sage's sister, Katie served as a teacher, principal and project director for personal education programs. This program is a wonderful example of how education can be done when teachers and classes meet children. In 1981, Katie 's sister was transferred to Saint Mary' s Catholic School as a principal until 1984.

In 1984, Kitty 's sisters went to Texas Southern University to work in the campus sector including students, faculty and staff, and staff. In 1987, Katy Sisters went to the University of Houston campus as Campus Minister and Campus Bishop.

In 1993, Sister Katy served as a school counselor at the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The following year she became the director of the campus division of Rice University and Texas Medical Center. Kitty's sisters like to work with medical students, faculty and staff, and staff. Kitty sisters continue to work at the campus ministry and serve the Houston leadership committee of Dominican sisters.

For Katie's sister, the Dominican Republic's sister means to be with a group of exemplary women who are strong, diligent and united.

For 125 years I have served in Houston, Galveston, Sabine, and other parts of Texas, California, and Guatemala. The two preparatory schools of St. Agnes University and St. Pius X High School in Houston continue to grow. Today, our members are about 66 people, of which one third is the Minister of Education, others are the Ministry of Dioceses, religious education, social welfare, Ministry of Campus, counseling, medical, law, family and women's services I am in. Music and art, the mission of Guatemala, retreat work, community organization and refugee support

She entered the monastery in September 1963. "In the summer of my junior and senior year I have decided that God wants me to join the sister of the Dominican sister of Houston." In 1968, An Sister gave birth at St. Pius X High School in Biology I started teaching. She was there for 11 years. Her next assignment is Beaumont's Monsignee Kelly Catholic High School where she taught biology for one year. From 1980 to 1982 she worked in the community as a sister's driver living in Villa San Domenico and was a media librarian at Galveston-Houston Parish.
