Intimate partner violence (IPV), also called domestic violence, occurs when an individual deliberately harms or is in danger of harming past or current partner or spouse. Abuse often occurs as a model of control and execution, but the first abuse may also be a problem. The strategy used in IPV is essentially physical, sexual, economic, verbal or emotional. Individuals may also be subject to follow-up, intimidation, accusation, injury, humiliation, operation, and social support and intentional isolation from families. The frequency and severity of IPV vary. Children are often victims of hidden or quiet IPV, some are directly injured, others are victims of victimization.
