Domestic Violence in America

Domestic abuse in the United States is a big and complicated social health problem. Families are the most violent environment in the United States today (Lay, 1994). Sadly, most of the murdered people are not killed by strangers during arrest and similar crimes, but they are killed by the people they know. Naturally, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention recognizes interpersonal violence as a major public health problem (Velson-Friedrich, 1994).
