Does Musical Content Influence a Society?

In today's flexible and fashion-driven society, music plays an important role in influencing contemporary culture. You can propose and advertise specific lifestyles and activities through music, lyrics and music videos. These activities range from being a follower of Christ to respecting promiscuity. Even this alone proves that music plays an important role in the daily life of modern society. This also shows that the effect of music can be both positive and negative. From this evidence we have doubts as to whether music, lyrical content, music video will affect people and society.

How does music influence identity and how does identity affect music? Is music just a representation of personal hobbies? In this module we discuss and explore the relationship between music and identity.
