Does CSR work? Since no definition of corporate social responsibility has been accepted, there are many confusion about the composition of corporate social responsibility activities. A practical definition of corporate social responsibility can be defined taking into account its two objectives (useful for business and society) and the range of potential benefits in each case (Figure 1). Many companies reflect the personal interests of individual senior managers, so they are pursuing the best corporate social responsibility activities known as pet projects. These activities may be very loud and advertised, but in many cases there are minimal benefits to businesses and society. The middle is an effort to make the two feel better, but it creates limited, often unilateral, benefits. For example, through charity, corporate donations can bring most of the benefits to society (a potential but questionable reputation for business).
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) can not solve world problems. In other words, corporate social responsibility is one way of corporate profit and is beneficial to society at the same time. When defining CSR for an inexperienced person, there are usually three reactions. Some people say, "Is not this a green gathering?" Other people use less good words to explain the men's steaks than the greening. Others say my definition seems like an inspiring call to actions to alleviate capitalist diseases.
