Does Caroline Bird’s Ideas in “The Case Against College” Fly?

Carolyn Bird wrote in the article "Case for University (Bird 15-18)" in 1975, not all high school graduates are ready to go to college. This is 2010. This article is effective today as well. Some college students I have done are not mature enough to go to college, not to mention school. Some of the points she pointed out in this article are as follows. The university has never played a magical role for anyone. Will it make you a better person? Is the university responsible for your child? Does my child live in a country club?

In the case of 'opposition to the university', Caroline Bird asked about the necessity of the university and the education it provided. She said that the university was accepted - no doubt. She believes that traditional wisdom and evidence indicate that all high school graduates are not responsible and are superior to those who are not.
