The Guntur district is the administrative area of ​​Andhra's coastal area in Andhra Pradesh, India. The administrative area of ​​this area lies in the area and population of Guntur, the largest city in the area. The length of the coastline is about 100 kilometers and it is located on the right bank of the Krishna River and extends to the Bengal Bay separately from the Krishna region. It is located in the southern part of the Prakasam district, and to the west is the state of Telangana. According to the 2011 Indian census, it boasts an area of ​​11,391 square kilometers (4,398 square miles) with a population of 4,889,230.

The Guntur region covers an area of ​​about 11,391 square kilometers (4,398 square miles), equivalent to Banca Island in Indonesia. The Krishna River forms the boundary between the northeast and the east of this area, separating the Guntur region and the Krishna region. This area is located in the southeastern part of the Bay of Bengal, with the Prakasam district to the south, the Mahbubnagar district to the west, and the Nalgonda district to the northwest. The Krishna river joins the Bay of Bengal in the coastal area of ​​Guntur. Braided channels, vast flood plains and vast sandbars show that this part of the Krishna River flows through a relatively flat terrain, especially carrying monolithic sediments during the monsoon season.
