Driven driving is as dangerous as driving drunk drivers and is more common. When driving while being distracted, you need to know the following things.

If you enter text during driving, the possibility of collision will be 23 times higher, and if you are talking on a cell phone (handheld or hands-free) while driving you will get a chance with 4 times the chance.

You may be defeating the law. The use of mobile phones or handheld electronics in operation is prohibited in all Canadian provinces, as well as in the Yukon Territory and the Norwest Territory. According to law the penalty includes a major fine and in many cases deductions are included.

Drivers who are distracted may not be able to see up to 50% of the information available in the driving environment. You may be watching, but you do not "see" what actually happened

According to a survey, nearly 80% of collisions and 65% closing collisions indicate that some form of driver distraction is involved 3 seconds before the event 5.

* British Columbia and Ontario prohibit the use of mobile communication and electronic entertainment equipment while driving.

** Alberta states are expanding the law beyond handheld electronics, including diversion therapy, reading, writing, and other forms of driver distraction including personal grooming

Note: In British Columbia and Saskatchewan, the graduation program drivers are prohibited from using handheld equipment and hands-free equipment.

Ray LaHood of the US Department of Transportation introduced his "blueprint for distraction driving", a plan to reduce distracting driving accidents and related deaths. This blueprint encourages such laws to be enacted in eleven countries that do not distract the driving law. It lets the automobile industry challenge to adopt guidelines to reduce the possibility of distraction. The state recommends collaborating with educators to develop new curriculum materials. Automobile manufacturers offer dashboards and heads-up displays so that drivers can obtain driving information without having to escape from the road. The gesture-based and voice-based interface simplifies the control of the vehicle and its services. Mobile applications such as LifeSaver, BSafeMobile, DriveScribe, and TextLimit disable communication while moving the device. Telecommunications carriers are also studying similar methods

There are some distracting driving apps that can help teen drivers. Some applications such as AT & T DriveMode and LifeSaver block incoming text messages and phones so that drivers are not distracted by these notifications. Some distracting driving applications even drive games safely by allowing teenagers to earn points and redeem their rewards. By introducing teenagers to these apps, the driving school can show young drivers that their smartphone can be used very well.
