The Continental Association, often referred to as the "Association", was founded by the First Continental Congress in 1774 to carry out a trade boycott with the UK. Congress hopes that by implementing economic sanctions the UK will be pressured to rectify the colonial dissatisfaction, in particular the abolition of unacceptable bills passed by the British Parliament. The association aims to change British policy towards colonies without compromising loyalty. The boycott began on December 1, 1774. The association had considerable success with respect to the period. Trade with the UK fell sharply, Britain responded with the New England restriction law of 1775. The outbreak of the American Revolutionary War actually replaced the attempt to boycott British goods.
One of the first actions of the first Continental Congress was the creation of the 1774 Continental Association, often referred to as the "Association". The Continental Congress enacted the "Articles of Incorporation" adopted on October 20, 1774. Continental Association (also known as the constitution or association) is an American colonial agreement to impose economic sanctions on Britain. Boycotts for importing British products to colonies will be made by community groups and small committees. British cargo ban was carried out on 1 December 1774.
On December 1, 1774, the Continental Federation was founded to resist all links with British goods. By reversing economic sanctions against colonialists, participants wish the UK to abolish its unbearable behavior. This is a considerable sacrifice, but patriots are willing to do so under the name of freedom and justice in colonies. According to these proposals, after the 51-day deliberation and tactical plan, the meeting was postponed to 22 October 1774. If we can not regain intolerance, Congress will decide to meet again. When Congress responded to the continuing action of colonialists, Congress discussed the next move, but the tension between royalty, patriot, royal chief, British soldier and colonial people intensified I continued. These strong emotions have come to surface and are preparing to end with "the world's listening lens". This is a direct war between colonies and the UK.
