The history of our work began in 1999. Through the service of the New Testament Community Church, Elisha Satvinder Pastor and his wife Petrina, the founders soon discovered many poor families in the Sentul region.
Worried about the welfare of poor people in the area, the church began contacting the community through basic home centers, food distribution, arranging for free health checkups, support for school supplies, employment introductions and counseling. They soon realized that this work was useful, but due to limited resources and human resources, they did not produce the sustainable impact they wanted.
Quality education is the key to cutting off the cycle of poverty, program initiatives are integrated and education is starting to focus. Starting with a simple tuition fee course, it quickly attracted over 50 students. However, the children who are already late continue to struggle
This work was officially carried out under the name of Harvest Center in 2003 and in January 2004 the first Montessori kindergarten for disadvantaged groups was held for 30 students. As the educational program begins to grow, primary and secondary education programs will be added.
In 2010, all harvest center education programs were named after the child's dignity foundation.
The aim of dignity is to allow poor children to break the cycle of poverty through quality education and thereby actively change their lives and the lives of the surrounding communities.
