A partnership is like a marriage and it is possible that all partners are responsible for equal ownership and decision making and it can be difficult if you and your partner do not agree. Your partner name will automatically be the last name of all partners. For example, if your name is Su Johnson and you open a flower shop with Bob Green, your business is legally called "Johnson and Green". To do business with various kinds of names, you need to register the "Doing business" (DBA) name in order to declare the imaginary name or fictitious name of the business. To extend the previous example, you and Bob must register with the state to do business with the name "Flowers-R-Us".
