The story is about a man named Billy Weaver who needs to find a cheap and quality hotel that is working. He asked people at the station, they recommended him to the hotel The Bell And Dragon, and Billy soon went to the neighborhood to go to the hotel, but he was not enthusiastic. So he advanced further and found a place called bed & breakfast. And that made Billy very attractive. Billy walked over the glass window and saw the dog rounded by a fireplace, a large sofa and a thick armchair. He decided immediately which hotel to stay and chose bed & breakfast. He opened the doorbell and the door opened wide. The woman who owns it is about 45 to 50 years old and welcomes Billy with a warm smile.
These two short stories have similarities and a few differences. The only similarity between these two short stories is that in both short stories the setting is reasonable, realistic and persuasive. Both story settings are real places or huge potential places. What is striking is that Jackson uses this setting to divert viewers from the fearfully awfully shocking and horrible ceremonial ritual that is likely to happen. Readers are affected by this reality till the end of the story. Paradoxically, Lawrence adopts this environment into the story and uses a vivid description to allow the reader to add their own memories.
