Difference Between Settlement Houses & Charity Organization Societies

Both charities and settlements bring value to the communities they serve. However, they will behave differently. The settlements are designed to serve individual communities by offering a wide range of services, but charity organizations are collecting funds for various companies and organizations. The biggest difference between the house of reconciliation and the charity is personal treatment.

Charity organizations have existed for centuries before villages and social work. These organizations are mainly operated by wealthy women and have hardly received specialized training. Money collected by fair and dance charities helped the poor, but they did not help individuals to improve themselves.

Villages provide services to the community. These courses include citizenship courses and exam preparation, and follow-up care courses for working parents' children. The content provided by the settlement organization is not just about services, but the idea behind these services. The settlement is designed to improve overall happiness by providing the opportunities that individuals need to improve themselves. Instead of assigning charitable organizations to families in need, third country settlement sites cooperate with employment and medical care to provide tools that really need independence for poor families.

Charity organizations simply collect funds for various companies and organizations. People involved are mainly focused on collecting funds from rich and social elite, as opposed to those who manage villages, which are interactions with community members that are largely uncontested. Charity organizations may donate money to support the settlement funds, but the settlement house donates time to the community.
