Development of Western Classical Music

Current Western classical music is not one time. This is a long process starting with medieval sacred music. War, illness, famine, political turmoil, and progress in science not only bring about change but also change its expression method as well as how to express music, giving rich history to contemporary Western classical music . During the Middle Ages, the Catholic Church dominated all aspects of life. The church teaches aristocracy, advises the rulers, governs the trial, and is the spiritual guidance of the people.

Below is a summary of the history of Western classical music. Both "Western" and "classic" are incorrect terms, but they are certainly named as a reasonably consistent tradition of music that has evolved from the dark era to the present. Instructions do not examine the meaning and skills of music in detail, but the purpose of the syllabus is to get used to various eras and styles. Traditionally, the history of Western classical music has been understood to begin with the religious practice of the voice of the Roman Catholic Church (also known as "Gregory" singer). Early in the 9th century ordinary people spread through memories until Charlemagne, Emperor of St. Roman, arranged to record it and distributed standardized books to churches and monasteries throughout Europe.

Regarding Western music, the second half of the 18th century was often called the "classical" era; music of this era was thought to be quite different from the music of the Baroque era. However, the transition from baroque to classic is moderate. Three trends in the middle of the 18th century are behind this change. The first trend is called reform opera. Many composers are opposed to the clumsy customs of the Italian baroque opera they see. They want to lessen the interest in Italian opera more natural, more direct expression, more dramatic stories, and brilliant decoration of solo singers. The most successful composer is Christoph Willibald Gluck (1714-1787). The theme of renovation of opera is not new. Gluck's opera Orfeo ed Euridice talks about the legend of Orpheus, Orpheus of the famous Montville 150 years ago.
